Hey again, everyone! Time for an update on another project that I haven’t talked about yet.
An Exquisite Corpse #1
20 writers. One story. One page each.
If you’re curious about the concept, Google the title! It’s not a very common thing, especially within the comic book industry. I’ve seen a few recent attempts at it, only ever with multiple different artists, but I find the other way around to be incredibly interesting. 20 writers, 1 artist. Each writer goes in blind, only seeing the pages that are already written. There’s no overall plot, no story planning, no meetings to discuss it.
It could be a giant mess and I can’t wait.
So far, there are a number of writers on board. I won’t list who they are until closer to release, but keep an eye on @BUMPTheComic on Twitter. There are some really talented people and I’m looking forward to revealing who’s involved.
Right now, we’re months away from launching it, so an artist isn’t signed on yet. There are a couple in mind, but as always in the comic industry, it’ll depend on availability. If any artists read this and are curious, feel free to get in touch. 20 paid pages.
As for me? I’ll be writing the first page, but this will also be my first time editing a project. It’s a new challenge and not something I expected to be doing, so I’m looking forward to it.
And lastly, this is the first entry in what I’m calling “BUMP Presents”, a new series of spin-off comics featuring writers other than myself engaging in experimental storytelling. The regular BUMP series will still be around, with me telling various spooky tales.
